Greyson’s Album Debuts at #2!
Greyson Chance has released his first album, “Hold on ‘Til the Night” today and debuted at #2 on iTunes.
Chance, the 14-year-old YouTube protegé follows suit with the generation of Beliebers and has conquered the essential teen girl demographic. Its only been two years since he performed a soulful piano cover of Lady Gaga’s ‘Paparazzi’ at his elementary school’s talent show and caught the eye of Geffen Records and inspired Ellen DeGeneres to sign him as the first artist on her label: eleveneleven.
She tweeted about her protegé this evening: “I’m so proud of @GreysonChance. His first album debuted at #2 on iTunes today!”

Why Greyson Wrote Little London Girl
Greyson talks about the inspiration behind his latest song:
“She lights my world my Little London Girl!” This song is a very fun and upbeat record. When I was on my first trip to London for promo, I had some studio time booked. I loved London a lot, it gave me a fun rock ‘n’ roll type of vibe. It was always raining and cloudy and to be honest, on the verge of being depressing. So I wanted to make a song that shone through all the clouds and the rain. The original idea was, “You light my world my little American girl.” But I wanted to make something about the magical city of London. This song is about meeting a girl in London who is very rock ‘n’ roll. She is wearing leather tights with Ray Ban’s on, that type of girl. London is such an amazing city and I wanted to highlight it with this song!

Michael and Marisa
Michael and Marisa will be teaming up with Greyson again:
The sibling pop duo Michael and Marisa will be joining Greyson Chance on tour this summer.
“We love to play with Greyson and are excited to share the stage with him again”, says Michael. “We really respect musicians who can tear up the piano like he does and he’s also very nice and friendly to tour with”, adds Marisa.
The brother sister team will open for Greyson on 4 upcoming tour dates in August.
Hold On Til The Night Review
Greyson Chance didn’t need to include his starmaking cover of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” on his debut album. Instead, the 13-year-old — whose 2010 YouTube clip of the smash got more than 41 million hits — outdoes himself with 10 originals. Chance’s gripping falsetto and seasoned vocal style belie his age on such pop nuggets as the stirring “Heart Like Stone” and the string-led “Unfriend You.”

New Interview with Greyson
Has anyone ever unfriended you?
I have been unfriended many of times. The inspiration comes from me being unfriended and I am unfriending someone myself. It is a double-sided story. This is one of my favorite records, because I just launched a website called unfriendyou.tv where it shows different types of people around Hollywood if they have ever been unfriended. What is so great about this record is it is a fun break up song.
Do you have a hand in writing all your songs?
I am about to release my debut album ‘Hold On ‘Til The Night’ which comes out in six days. It is a 10 song record album and I wrote 7 out of 10. These are all brand-new songs.
Do you have an idea of what your next single may be?
I have an idea. but I can’t tell you just yet. It’s a secret.
Are you forced to keep a lot of secrets now that you have so much going on?
During all this, I like to keep secrets about some stuff. Even before I go on stage I have a special piano that I designed covered in words and songs. Even before the show I have it covered in a curtain. I don’t even want the crew to see it until the show goes on.
Do you think your friends confide in you a lot?
Yes, I’m like a human vault.
How have your friends and family reacted to your stardom?
My family is so supportive of all I do as well as my friends. I am always visiting home and they always are there when I need them.
You have an older brother and older sister who are also musicians. Did they come into the studio when you were recording?
They did not. My older bother and sister are in college and stick to themselves.
What was it like meeting Ellen for the first time?
Meeting Ellen was amazing. She is very involved in the project. I’m always texting her or meeting up for dinner. She’s like my second mother – always there when I need her.
Does she offer you advice?
Of course. She told me to never change myself. I took that to heart.
